Tailor-made CUSP Services

CUSP recognizes each student has their own unique set of skills and that strengths and weaknesses can vary dramatically. Therefore, CUSP services are specifically designed to address social, organization and communication needs and helps students develop individualized strategies to manage their college careers independently and successfully.

Individualized Sessions in Person or via Remote Support

CUSP professional staff work alongside each student twice-weekly for up to 60 minutes each session. Meetings address predetermined personal and academic goals and are the foundation for assisting students develop individualized strategies for managing various areas of college life. Remote supports are also available. Please contact CUSP for more details.

Weekly Social Skill Groups

CUSP services include weekly group sessions on campus. During group sessions students are taught the importance of strong social and self-advocation skills. They are then given the opportunity to practice these skills with CUSP staff and their fellow peers. Weekly social skill groups are open to all campus students.

Transition to Graduate School and Employment

CUSP staff prides themselves on establishing a strong community presence.​​ We have developed positive ties with many local and national companies. CUSP students have ample opportunities to visit local businesses in their field of interest. CUSP offers resume critiques, “60 second sells” and video taped mock interviews so students can study body language and formulate strategies to obtain meaningful employment after graduation.

CUSP understands that a proactive approach to education is beneficial to not just students and parents but also high schools and higher education institutions. CUSP staff is able to provide trainings and Workshops for professionals in the education field as well as for high school students preparing for college. What is CUSP?

College & University Support Programs or CUSP provides specific and individualized transition support to high school and college students.The change from high school to college is often difficult for students and families.  All of the time that goes into training students to succeed in a traditional scholastic schedule fails to prepare students for higher education.

College students regularly have large gaps in their course schedules and filling this time productively can be a challenge.CUSP assists students and families with transitional and executive functioning issues associated with college life. Organizing time properly, developing effective study and communication skills, and steps to build self-advocacy takes place before the semester even begins. This gives students a “roadmap” for the coming months.

CUSP staff meets with students twice a week to help keep them on track with their college experience.Over time CUSP students are introduced effective strategies to apply for internships, research opportunities and employment.  Students are poised to confidently and competitively enter the work force upon graduation.

Many CUSP students enter college nervous, young, and inexperienced.  However, with individualized assistance from CUSP they graduate as focused and mature young professionals, eager to meet the needs of various employers and industry.

CUSP consulting services are designed to address the unique needs of each clients situation. We understand that different environments invite different emotions and actions. CUSP consulting services can provide both in-home and in-school observations to see the entire picture from an unbiased but trained eye. We recognize that assessment drives not only instruction but also intervention and application.

Once enrolled in services we closely analyze the background and history of interventions, as well as previous methods used. We collaborate with family members and support professionals to prioritize all applicable information and develop a specific, measurable plan for success.

This process allows us to create a very unique and individualized program. One that addresses the discrepancies and concerns of the situation allowing individuals to improve their social, emotional and learning skills but also a plan that can be updated weekly to track progress and allow the student to own their experience.

Remote Support
