Hello. My name is Stephen Motto and I am the Owner of CUSP Educational Services. I started CUSP in the spring of 2013 but have been working with college students and their families for over ten years. My first role on a college campus (other than a student) was as a peer mentor at a local community college. I was very surprised with some of the difficulties student’s had with managing their time and academics. This was in the 2003-2004 school year. Since that time I have gone back to school and earned my Master’s degrees in special education & elementary education. I have worked as a classroom teacher for several years but kept finding myself working with high school and college students outside the classroom. From starting CUSP I have met scores of talented students, faculty, and other professionals. I have been fortunate enough not only to meet these people but also help them achieve many of their academic and personal goals. When I am not working I enjoy learning new things, cooking, traveling and amateur photography.
There is a need for CUSP services and every student regardless of their situation, can be successful and earn a degree with the proper coaching. CUSP not only offers coaching and mentoring services but also curriculum development, staff workshops, and public speaking engagements. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.
Michelle Sebastian, BA
Regional Program Manager-Central New York
Hello. My name is Michelle Sebastian and I am the Regional Program Manager for the Central New York branch of CUSP Educational Services. I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and New York State Adult Education Certification for an Assessment and Advisement Instructor. Currently, I run the CUSP social skills group at the SUNY Polytechnic Institute in Utica, NY. In addition, I work as a case manager for an adult education program and as a mentor through a human service agency in Upstate New York. When I am not working with students, I enjoy reading, baking, gardening and volunteering my time as President of the Literacy Coalition of Herkimer and Oneida Counties.
CUSP helps many students find a sense of belonging on their campuses and in their schools. We have helped to improve the management, academic, and social skills needed to be successful not only in school but after graduation as well.
